Free Websites for Charities

PLEASE NOTE THAT SADLY I AM HAVING TO WITHDRAW THIS OFFER UNTIL FURTHER NOTICE. I may still be able to offer some assistance once you have set up the website yourself, please feel free to email me to enquire about this.

We like helping those who help others. This is a special offer for certain charities and non-profit groups. The definition of what constitutes a charitable organisation or group is entirely at our discretion, and we reserve the right to accept or decline requests.

Please see below to find out if your charity or group qualifies, what the offer does and doesn't include, and how to proceed. If you have any queries, please do contact us.

Who is this offer open to?

  • Charities and non-profit groups that rely on sponsorship and donations for their funding and are run entirely by unpaid volunteers;
  • Charities, groups or individuals whose purpose is 100% charitable and aimed at helping others, such as:
    • helping the vulnerable (whether human or animal) - to relieve poverty, to help special needs children/adults, to help abandoned / mistreated animals, etc.;
    • fundraising to help someone suffering from a serious medical condition and requiring expensive medical treatment;
    • providing foreign aid (orphanages, education, health care, etc.).

Who does it exclude?

  • Charities and non-profit groups that have (or plan to have) paid staff;
  • Charities / groups whose purpose is to benefit their own members, such as:
    • sports clubs/teams, pet clubs, child groups, hobby groups, etc.;
    • churches and political groups.
  • An exception to this would be a special project run by a school / group / church etc aimed at raising funds for a specific charitable purpose, as long as it's not used to promote a faith or patronage;
  • If you don't qualify for free development, you still qualify for a discount on our hourly rate. You may also qualify for a special discounted hosting plan.

The offer includes:

  • Development of a 5-page brochure website (no e-commerce), based on one of our templates (extra pages can be added by you at no extra cost);
  • Basic customisation of your chosen template, such as changing colours to match your brand;
  • Basic SEO (Search Engine Optimisation), to help search engines find you;
  • A special charity website hosting plan at a reduced rate (provided the conditions for the plan are met);
  • A discounted hourly rate on any extra work required; Our current rate for charities is $50/hour.
  • A bulk mailing service which allows your supporters to subscribe to newsletters, and allows you to send your newsletters to them.

The offer does not include:

  • Domain names;
  • Custom design work;
  • Preparation of content (this includes text and images);
  • Work beyond the free 5-page development offer;
  • Ongoing maintenance work or support - you need to make sure you will be comfortable updating the website yourself. The system is very intuitive and user friendly, and we have many online tutorials available to help you along.
